We have an extended family of volunteers who appreciate the rewards of making a difference in the lives of older community members. Opportunities for Redwood Elderlink volunteers include:
- preparing activities
- facilitating The Reading Group, cooking classes or community projects
- interacting with older adults in our Bring Your Pet program
- getting people involved with games or arts and crafts
- serving lunches
Junior Volunteers Make a Difference
Elderlink Junior Volunteers bring plenty of smiles, hugs and welcome company to our residents. If you’re between 10 and 14 years of age and are interested in connecting with older people, we offer many wonderful opportunities to get involved:
- Read to residents or help them write letters.
- Make decorations for a special event.
- Help serve at parties, and at snack and meal times.
- Assist with cooking and craft projects.
- Play games with residents.
- Take part in interactive plays.
These are just some of the fun activities we can arrange for Junior Volunteers. To join the team, give us a call at (760) 480-1030.
The Redwood Auxiliary
The Redwood Auxiliary is an organization of dedicated women and men who devote their time, energy and talent to help enhance the quality of life for aging adults. Founded in 1979, the Auxiliary coordinates a variety of programs for Redwood Elderlink, as well as at our Redwood Terrace and Redwood Town Court communities. Auxiliary members help deliver Elderlink programs, assist in the gift shop at Redwood Terrace and enhance community life in many other ways.
In addition, the Auxiliary contributes annual gifts to our Redwood senior communities and sponsors social events throughout the year for our residents, families and friends—including Christmas dinner, our annual spring meeting, rummage sales and card parties. Whether you volunteer for a few hours a month, contribute to a fund raiser or simply enjoy the company of others by attending Redwood Auxiliary events, your participation and support are greatly appreciated.
- For more information about the Redwood Auxiliary, please call Merrie Schwartz at (760) 737-5458 ext. 233.
Donation Opportunities
As a not-for-profit agency, Redwood Elderlink welcomes both monetary and in-kind donations that help us provide meaningful care and high-quality services. We hold an annual fund-raising event to raise money for our operations—but of course we welcome your support anytime. Just give us a call at (760) 480-1030.
