Who can participate in Redwood Elderlink programs?

We have a wide variety of programs that share the common goal of serving older adults and their families. Each program has slightly different eligibility criteria, so please give us a call at (760) 480-1030 and we’ll help you find the program that best meets your needs.

Is transportation provided?

Yes, we offer complimentary transport as part of the adult day health care program and also, for a small fee, in the social day care program—all within certain geographical guidelines and timeframes. Wheelchair-accessible vans are available.

Are meals served as part of the program?

Yes, we provide a continental breakfast, a nutritious hot lunch and an afternoon snack. We’re able to accommodate special dietary needs as well.

What are your hours?

Redwood Elderlink is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every day. Program activities take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Home care services are available round the clock, seven days a week.

What activities are available?

There are many therapeutic and social activities during the day, including armchair exercises, stretching, armchair travel, movies, trivia, music, arts and crafts, gardening, karaoke, food preparation, intergenerational programs, visiting entertainment and more.

How is the service billed?

We charge our participants monthly based on the their attendance and services provided. The Out & About shuttle and all support groups are free community services.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept Medi-Cal, VA benefits and long-term health insurance coverage.

What if medication is needed during the day?

Our licensed nurse is available to administer daytime medications.

Can attendance days be changed?

While we encourage participants to stick to a regular schedule, we try to be flexible when situations arise that require a change in attendance days.

What is the ratio of staff to participants?

We maintain a 1-to-5 staff-to-participant ratio.

If I’m using Elderlink Home Care, can I change my caregiver?

Certainly—we want you to be entirely comfortable with your in-home caregiver.

Is respite care available?

Yes, respite services are available through Elderlink Home Care.

Does Elderlink Home Care have a minimum number of hours?

Yes, we have a two-hour minimum.

What about overnight care?

We also offer a 10-hour overnight service at a special rate.

Are in-home caregivers capable of looking after someone with dementia?

All Elderlink caregivers receive ongoing training in dementia support, as well as caring for seniors and other adults with disabilities.
